About Shotlist
The Moving Images Network (MINET) consortium guides the project Shotlist, a growing bank of high quality video resources for institutions of Higher Education to enhance teaching and learning at home and abroad.
There are currently eight subject areas, Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Engineering (including Maths for Engineers), Information Systems, Lectures, Practical Mathematics and Psychology. Shotlist provides specialist photography of events, be they microscopic or social, case studies, technical demonstrations, or one-off lectures by scholars of international repute.
Shotlist videos augment lectures, provide standards for laboratory practice, show students the real world of business and industry and provide core materials for distance learning by video and other combined computer-based formats.
Shotlist is for HE by HE; produced to stringent broadcast standards, the videos are, where possible, made by the television units of universities. Shotlist is distributed at minimal cost to all UK institutions of Higher and Further Education, who are permitted to copy, re-edit and re-format according to their own needs.
In its initial years Shotlist was core funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England. It is now financed through the projects it develops.
